This is a natural pigment encrusted ancestor mask from the Lega people of the Congo. Stylised and simple form. Thought to depict the ancestors. A pigment covered patina with a monochromatic colour scheme. In good condition , Height of mask approx 25 cm. This mask has probably not been tribally used. Stand not included.
